How to import a Deezer playlist into eSound

Copy the playlist’s link in Deezer, including the short link the share button gives you. In eSound, open Library, tap +, choose Import playlist and then Import from Deezer. Paste the link, tap Load playlist and then Import. The playlist must be public on Deezer.

Before you start

  • The eSound app on Android or iPhone, signed in to your eSound account.
  • A Deezer playlist link in one of these forms: https://www.deezer.com/playlist/…, the same with a language in the path (for example deezer.com/fr/playlist/…), or a short https://link.deezer.com/s/… link.
  • A public playlist. eSound opens it through its link and never asks for your Deezer account.
  • Importing works in the app, not in the eSound web player.

Import the playlist step by step

  1. Copy the link in Deezer

Open the playlist in Deezer and copy its link from the share options. A short link.deezer.com link is fine: eSound follows it to the playlist.

  2. Open Import playlist

In eSound, go to Library, tap the + button and choose Import playlist, or use the Import playlist entry in Search.

  3. Choose Deezer

Tap Import from Deezer to open its card.

  4. Paste and load

Paste the link with the clipboard icon in the field, then tap Load playlist. A preview with the songs opens.

  5. Tap Import

Tap Import and wait for the counter to finish. The button turns into Imported and eSound opens the new playlist, which you also find in Library.

What to expect

  • Only playlists can be imported. An album link is not a playlist and is refused.
  • The imported playlist is your own copy: later changes on Deezer do not reach it. Import the playlist again to pick them up.
  • Big playlists take a little longer. The counter on the preview shows how far the import has got.

If something goes wrong

  • Invalid Deezer link: eSound found no playlist behind the link. Check that you copied a playlist (not an album or a song) and that the playlist is public on Deezer.
  • Error importing playlist: check your connection and tap Import again.
  • Not available on the web app: you are in the web player in a browser. Import from the Android or iPhone app.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a Deezer account?

No. eSound only needs the link of a public playlist.

Can I import a Deezer album?

No, only playlists. To bring an album over, add its songs to a public Deezer playlist and import that.

Will the playlist keep updating from Deezer?

No. eSound copies the playlist when you import it; to get later changes, import it again.

Is importing free?

Yes. Importing playlists is part of the free eSound app.
