How to install eSound on Android

On your Android phone, open esound.app/download in the browser and tap Download for Android (APK). Open the downloaded file and, when Android asks, allow installing from that source. eSound installs like any other app, and when a new version comes out the app tells you and links you straight to the download.

Before you start

  • An Android phone or tablet and its web browser.
  • A little free space for the app.
  • eSound for Android is distributed as an APK file from esound.app. It is also listed on Huawei AppGallery and the Amazon Appstore.

Install the APK step by step

  1. Open the download page

On the phone, go to esound.app/download. On Android the download of the latest version usually starts by itself; otherwise tap Download for Android (APK). The button also shows the version you are about to get.

  2. Confirm the download

Your browser may warn that this type of file can be harmful, because it is an app that does not come from a store. Confirm that you want to download it (in Chrome: Download anyway).

  3. Open the file

When the download finishes, tap the notification or open the file from your Downloads.

  4. Allow the installation

The first time, Android asks whether your browser may install apps. Allow it for this source, go back and tap Install.

  5. Open eSound

Tap Open, then create your account or sign in. Your playlists and library follow your eSound account.

Updates

When a new version is published, eSound shows an Update available card on Home and a message with Update and Later. Tap Update to download the new APK, then open it and install it over the old one, the same way as the first time. Your data stays.

You can also download the latest version from esound.app/download at any time.

If something goes wrong

  • The installation is blocked: allow your browser (or file manager) to install unknown apps in Android’s settings, then open the file again.
  • App not installed: you may already have a copy of eSound from another store on the phone. A version from another store cannot be replaced by the APK; it has to be uninstalled first, which deletes what is stored in the app on that phone, such as songs you imported from your own files.
  • The download does not start: tap Download for Android (APK) on esound.app/download.
  • Not enough space: free up some storage and open the file again.
